stupid task bar preview thing

hi guys! my first post heere so be easy on me hahaha

obviously i'm running windows 8. if i hover my mouse over a task bar program, a little preview of the various windows that are loaded that are using that program. e.g i will have file manager loaded, and have several folders opened in different windows, and they will all show as little previews above the file manager icon, as i hover my mouse over the icon on the task bar.

this is cool and i love this feature.

what i dont like, is how if i hover my mouse over the preview, the entire screen goes blank showing desktop image, and the the window that is open, that corresponds to the preview tab i am hovering over.

i run a duel screen, where the second screen is a tv. i usually drag vlc player, or a browser window if i'm streaming to the second screen. i then browse the web on the other screen, and maybe organising my files or whatever. if i try and move between windows, as i drag the mouse over the various tabs, the video disapears for a second, till i find the window i'm after. kinda annoying, especially if its the missus video.

so is there any software out there to change this? even if i could just have a normal task bar, like on XP or something.
