Windows 8 BSOD/Restart Error related to usbfilter.sys/ntsokrnl.exe

Hi!

I've recently been having a restart error on my Toshiba laptop whenever I put it on sleep mode or whenever I close the lid. It doesn't happen every time I do it, but it does happen once a day and it's getting annoying. :( I've seen a thread here with a similar problem, but that thread is now expired. I've been searching and apparently I've been getting the BSOD Power Drive State Failure 0x9F, even though I don't get the blue screen, it's just black and takes a few seconds longer to get to the log in screen.
I ran WhoCrashed and it reported the crash has something to do with usbfilter.sys and ntoskrnl.exe, and one ntkrnlmp.exe. Now I've checked my drivers and they all are updated to the latest version, the usb filter driver is also updated to the latest verson (2.0.010.273 I believe). I've checked Toshiba but they don't seem to have the previous version of the driver available and I don't really know what to do now. If someone could help me out, I'd very much appreciate it as this error is starting to freak me out. Thank you!
