Windows 8

I recently installed Windows 8 on my laptop, formerly used Vista. I am constantly having problems with my screen zooming in and out, pointer lands anywhere causing unwanted functions. It is very annoying to have to be constantly resetting my screen to 100% and changing the function of the pointer to where I need it. It seems that the computer has taken a life of its own doing what it wants to do in spite of my actions. Help!
