I bought a laptop from Lenovo, a z500 with one key recovery, which works ok, but puts on all the bloat that came with the machine. Lenovo want to give me a free recovery disk, but charge £40 admin fee, Dick Turpins., why they do not include a window's 8 disc is very strange..
Any way I have acquires a usb windows 8 boot , but how do I get it to boot, do I change to legacy or leave it as uefi,? usb boot is enabled but it just dies not boot when plugged in.
Just as a foot note I did get it to boot changing to legacy, but on custom install I delte the partition which window is on , format it but it will not install on a gpt ( I think its gpt) file partition.
My licence is embedded on the motherboard, and I am assured the USB will work, I have managed to use one key recovery to get my computer back, but I think I will lose this option, any help would be great and advice would a clean install be better or the factory reinstall.
