Can't type in address bar.

When I try typing something in the address bar or search bar, nothing happens. If I restart my computer, I can type and it shows up again, but after the computer goes to sleep and I wake it up, I can't type again. I hit the keys, but nothing happens. I try in IE and Firefox, it's the same in each. No typing shows up.
