I have a 1280x1024 mointor which was looking perfect until my brother installed the up to date GTX 480 drivers and the nvidia control panel utility. Anyhow the problem is this monitor is supposed to run at 5:4 aspect ratio but it is running at the widescreen ratio from what I can see something like 16:9, circles appear to be oval and programs don't look as good visually anymore. I tried uninstalling the drivers but the screen still remains stuck in this aspect ratio and I know for certain it wasn't like that before. Also I have tried changing the resolutions that still have no bearing on my monitor being forced to display at this widescreen aspect ratio. On top of that I have gone into the nvidia control panel and played with all the settings in regard to aspect ratio which there is nothing useful that allows you to display the image at a 5:4 aspect so I'm just really stuck on what to do.
I was hoping there's a manual way to dial in the 5;4 aspect of my monitor using a third party program that's free or something along the lines of that. I have a photo here of my desktop, as you can see the google chrome logo is not circle and more like a oval and the icons are stretched.
Any help is greatly appricated.
