Have Pavilion G7 laptop w/Win 8. Presented with a flashing desktop/app screen. It is not "flickering" and does not start flashing until fully booted. Once flashing it is all but impossible to select anything. On occasion it does not flash, but get the error box stating Unknown Hard Error explorer.exe. Closing the box initiates the flashing. Only thing available then is Ctrl/Alt/Del and boot to safe mode. Does not flash in safe mode. Checked virus/bug free and has all MS updates and works perfectly in safe mode. Repair option is unavailable due to gets error initiating. Other fix options say "it looks like an installation did not complete..." and it forces to reboot, which repeats cycle. Have not tried factory reset/new OS installation yet.
