Partial Boot on Battery Power

While on battery power (fully charged) My Lenovo G505 will not boot
correctly.
It gets past the Lenovo screen, and sometimes past the User Welcome
screen; but it stops at a dark blue screen.
Control/Alt/Delete gets the Lock/Switch User/Sign Out/Task Manager
screen.
The laptop boots normally on AC power.
Please help if you can...
